Case Study: Geneva Pharmaceuticals
Challenge:
Geneva Pharmaceuticals, a non-branded pharmaceutical company, employed Rave Reviews to create an evening that their convention clients would long remember. They were up against the larger, branded pharmaceutical companies who threw extravagent events and had a hold on most of the attendees. The challenge was to get twenty guests to attend Geneva’s party. If Rave Reviews could attract only twenty guests representing chain store pharmacies, the evening would be a success. And Geneva wanted those who attended to have a fabulous, memorable evening.
Solution:
The event was in Chicago, so Rave Reviews designed the event around 1920’s gangsters.
To attract an audience, we sent out a series of three invitations from VITO:
- Invitation One: A can of sardines wrapped in newspaper suggesting that if they did not attend, they might be sleeping with the fishes.
- Invitation Two: A CD ROM with Vito’s voice, backed up by machine gun fire, commanding them to come to his party…or else
- Invitation Three: A personal telephone call from Vito himself. (If they did not reach the prospective guests on the phone, Vito left a voice mail.)
The Results of the Invitation: One hundred people attended the event.
Results: I am still receiving Rave Reviews from
the field on the wonderful evening of entertainment. I’m not
sure if you know, but we received a hefty contract from one of the
pharmaceutical groups we entertained. They did comment on it having
something to do with the personal touch we gave them.
